As a wholly owned subsidiary of Chemetall GmbH Chemetall Taiwan Co., Ltd. was founded in 1996. The headquarters are located in Taipei City. In 1997, the construction of a butyllithium manufacturing facility, the first in Asia for Chemetall, was started. The plant is located in Chang Hua Industrial Coastal Park, south of Taichung Harbour.
The facility is a dedicated unit for the manufacture of both normal and secondary butyllithium. Its production capacity will allow Chemetall to effectively serve the Asian market. The company is in a position to supply butyllithium in all quantities and packaging, from small amounts for pilot plants, up to large quantities packed in tank containers.
All concentrations of n-butyllithium are available - from diluted product in the range of 10 % up to the concentrate (90 %). The Taiwanese plant is large enough to allow for future expansions or the set up of new production units to supply the regional markets.
